They do make replacement motors for the old round ones that are the flatter profile ones in the LMR link. I think the holes through the gear end are a little different on 90-91 motors so those don't fit. Why they'd change that, who knows. Seems extra dumb if the 90-91 can take an older motor too, since that means the holes must be slotted in the regulator to allow different spacing.

She was actually in the garage drinking wine watching the whole thing go down. I would never put a visible hole anywhere it doesn't belong on my 72 and she knows it. She expects the same for her 91 and I don't blame her. I got the lower bolt out just now. No drilling required. I picked up a 8mm ratcheting box end like sly suggested and was able to get it out by putting one hand in the big top hole and the other hand through the speaker hole. I don't think I could have done it if the window was down when the motor quit.

Here is the window motor I replaced it with. I could have rebuilt the original Ford ones and still may but I chose to go with local item because of the lifetime warranty.

      DORMAN WINDOW LIFT MOTOR

The window goes up and down now but it starts to shake when it's going down about midway. I'm thinking the bar it slides down may need to be cleaned or greased. Thoughts?

Lube everything you can access on that mechanism, all of the sliding bits and all of the pivot points. it'll run better. I've also had some success with silicone spray lube in the window felts to keep the glass from sticking in the track as well.

I put white lithium grease from a tube all over it that night. Going up and down nice and smooth now.
