Thanks for the info! Tomorrow will be plenum removal day, and with it...........all new heater hoses and rocker cover gaskets.......the hose clamps closest to the heater core are a beech to get at..............may have to borrow an air ratchet as it is 90 degrees!

1/4" hand ratchet with a socket ought to get you in there easy enough.

Do the PCV parts and vacuum lines while the plenum is off. The PCV valve has a rubber grommet and a screen under it that are always in bad shape after this much time. The grommet should be rubber, not rock and the screen is always clogged solid. Also worth a good hard look at the back of the motor while you're in there to figure out if the lower intake needs to come off and be re-gasketed. It often pukes oil down the back and looks like a rear main seal. of course, a non-working PCV system contributes to this. Oh, and also I'd replace the two coolant hoses that go to the EGR spacer. THe are just 1/4" fuel hose, but if one blows it will dump coolant out pretty quickly. They're also something of a bastard to get at with the intake in place.
