I may have scored a PI rear sway bar.

I'm sure this info is around somewhere, but what I need to know: The years that fit are from '79 to '91, correct?

correct. make sure you got the spacers and bolts. the spacers are important to keep from crushing the control arm when tightening the bolts, and under stress.

Also make sure your control arms have both bolts...

Will do. Thanks.

Anyone know if Ford still carries the bolts/spacers in case I need new ones?

In case, for some odd reason, this turns out to be a stock rear sway bar rather than the PI, would there still be a noticeable handling difference? Either way, I've got another guy that's keeping an eye out for another. If I get an extra one I'll put it up for you guys.

a little is better than none!

and some grade 8 bolts will work, Lowes had a lot of automotive fasteners... I think ive even seen spacers you could use too.

you can use grade 5 bolts and washers to attach the swaybar

the sway bar bolts are metric 10.9 grade 8 are SAE if you get a 1/2" grade 8 or 5 you might need to enlarge the holes in the arms the holes in the bar should be big enough , you might need to run a 1/2" drill bit thru to clean up the coating. also i picked up another 1" PI bar this weekend

Oh yeah!

PI sway bar w/ bolts and spacers. All in good shape. $47. Just needs some fresh paint.

Friday I'm going to go look at a Mustang H-pipe. Hopefully I get that, too.

 Good to hear!

You will like the PI bar, makes a big difference in handling! As do new poly bushings/endlinks for the front. Make your marq more STIFF handling, not boaty and soft.

Wow. Thatll make it handle better but $47 seems kinda steep. I paid $8 for mine,

it depends if it is being shipped $47 is a good price if you get it from a u-pull-it yard it should be less than $20

Got it from a local yard. Tell 'em what you need and they get it for you. No U-pull-its around here.

Upgrade the front bar as well or you may run into some interesting cornering with extra stiff in the rear and stock in the front.

Is the front PI bar heavier than the stock?

I'm pretty sure but someone needs to back me up here.

Well, if I don't go about getting a heavier front bar, I'll make sure to just put in new bushings. I remember seeing how bad they were last fall. That should help.
