This afternoon I drove over to Tom's from my house, and assisted in resurecting the beast from the CFI swap. Here is how it went:
I arrived at about 1400-1430, I think, and saw this
That was kinda scarry, buit I survived the initial reintroduction to FORD after a 6 year hiatus. :coocoo:
The now CFI-less 84 Merc. The new gerbils should do well. :joy:
Mmmmmm 2 barrels... and an EGR valve the size of the San Andreas Fault!!!! :crazy2:
This should have been a warning to what would happen later on! :baghead:
After the sun went down, out brains began to turn to mush as the temprature dropped and Tom got out the :sawztom:
This is a killer set up, as the original Fuelie system had need of super high pressure, his little setup used a TEMPO (at least is is a :evilford: ) fuel filter with a return line provision and a Holley FPR. NICE
It leaks a little, but not much
Check this out! :slug: Actually we though the coil had passed on but that wasent it! Tom found that out with a vengance! Remember the ole check for spark while holding the coil wire with a pair of pliers routine? ZAP!!!! What hair he had has stood at attention like a Airman Basic confronted by a 4-star general!
When the hacksaw came out I ran!!!!!! :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :hairrais: :hairrais: :hairrais: :hairrais: :hairrais: :hairrais:
After repeated attempts at doing it marquisman style, Tom took a que from buttslappingpirate and reviewed the manual
Err, I think I know whay we were not having any luck here...
Finally after about a hundered different ideas, she started and RAN!!!!!!!
Very well too! She sounded GREAT!!!! Low rumble in the exahust, and that air horn whistle from the carb. The car ACTUALLY looks like it is SMILING!!!!
:amazed: :headbang:      :headbang2:
Then the Duraspark box took a crap. I left before Tom got a new box and got her running and rolling again.
Now is time for
