If I brought the Nissan to Scottfest? I'm pantherless and probably still will be come time for SF '09, but I've been wanting to come since I joined in 2006. Care to let some "rice" join the party?

I've never had it to the track yet due to it needing a clutch, a proper tune, a turbo that dosent burn large quantities of oil and the need for new rear subframe bushings. Heads coming off this weekend so I can re-build it at school just for the hell of it, was getting a little noisy, the rest will come with warmer weather, then I have to teach myself how to do bodywork...

Bye Bye bank account....

Gabe, I'm driving the Festiva right now, its my winter beater. I love that little car, amazing in the snow and gets 35mpg with the auto. It has crappy heat though due to a messed up HVAC box, so it will be seeing some love this summer as I'd like to keep it.

What was the settled upon date for Scottfest this year, August 7th-10th?

I wouldn't mind what you're driving, and an SR20 is welcome in my book, even though it's not a VH45, lol. And to make you mangs all feel better, if I can make it to SF09, I will most likely be in the slowest vehicle there by far.

Ray has that cornered, though honestly I wonder what truly is slower, a stock CFI box with the stupid 2.73 gears, or a stock 1600 dual port Beetle. The 1500 single port with the dual carbs I had would probably give a box a run for it's money, that engine really ran good.

I would bet the Panther is slower. I have one better: a 12,000 lb RV with the aerodynamics of a very large brick, which it is. Are they allowed on the strip?

An RV at the track would be good for a chuckle. It would also make our cars look fast lol.

Yeah, and Scott can bring out the big-block Revcon, and make it look even slower. Might it be possible to stage while also being in the burnout box?

I just checked the SF dates and I am on duty that weekend. I, and the RV, will be unable to attend. Again.

I may bring a Dodge to SF09. But, maybe the 'red box' if I make any new changes. Either way, I will be there... Even if I have to bring my 7 second Vespa, just to show Larry up.

Mines an Auto Stick so it's even slower.

My 85 cfi with 3.08 would easily dust my bug....

autosticks are their own special breed. The 4 speed cars move decently though. A lot of people were surprised at the power mine had with a stock 1500 single port, dual carbs and a header. It took a 50 hp motor and made it maybe a 65 hp engine but it had surprisingly decent acceleration for what it was.

Woke the Nissan up from its winter nap today, and after re-plating and temporarily insuring it, headed out to Brantford to the shop where re-building will begin. I forgot how much fun it is to drive. Nice having enough power to merge again. Festiva gave up its battery for the afternoon... Stupid pic wont attach for some reason...

As for slowest car, I'd say the festiva is right up there on the list... 0-60mph vid

You know what, after seeing the vid, I think the RV would take it down, lol. Looking forward to seeing more of the SR, BTW.

Back when I had an NA EFI 2.3L stang, I was outrun by a Super duty 460 EFI 24' rollback. It was sad.

My Beetle used to get passed by a friend of mine driving his grandmom's Reliant K on a regular basis. 2.2 automatic would just smoke my 1641 dual carb dual port 4 speed car.

So....

We pulled the engine tonight. No problems, no issues, went very smoothly infact. However, we found alot more rot on the car than we originally thought, so the car may be getting stripped of any useable parts which will then be getting stored until a suitable replacement car is found to swap everything into. Also, if I want to drive it this summer, I'm going to have to rush the engine build, something I'd rather not do.

I just realized I forgot the 'not' in my 1st post, lol... we didn't give Tom and and Justin too hard of a time that year.
But it sounds like the car might not make it? You'll just have to find a cheap box to tinker with!!! that 240 stuff all sounds expensive anyway...
