Looking like this:

Grimace, Nick, and Nate will be there Friday evening.

I get out of work at 3, I'll pick Nick up at 4, and then we will leave. I've made the trip door to door (from my house) in 4 hours, stopping once for gas.

I have to keep Grimace under 75 though, or else the mpgs drop right off.

I hate the drive out 84-81, so I may try the 84-684-287-78-61 shuffle, just because. Its supposedly 2 miles less, but its also more traffic prone.

We shall see.

I wouldn't go that way. I know the 78 to 61 part, and its crap. 78 is a nice interstate, but 61 is two lane through a bunch of towns. Lots of stop lights, lots of sub-55 zones, lots of traffic at times. The rest of that route I don't know but dumping straight off 81 is dead simple and pretty much guaranteed to not hit any appreciable traffic. Interstates are boring as hell sometimes, but they do get you where you're going.

If you really do want to run on 78 at some point, I can give you alternate directions that avoids all of 61, but it can be slightly confusing. Probably adds a few miles to the trip as well, and it involves a nice fuel sucker mountain to climb.

Thanks for the warning. I guess I'll tough it out on 84-81. The last time I traveled that road, I had no radio, and a resonating shift knob... This time shouldn't be that bad. Actually, I don;t have anything against 81. Its the bullshit of nothing to see on 84.

Now you've done it. Jinxed. Traffic is going to be backed up all the way to your door step.

:stfu1: dammit. You could be right though Nate. The Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridge are both in horrible condition lately. I live a block away from the Whitestone, and i see both bridges through my houses windows. I hope it is smooth sailing for me though.

I only have one chair thats structurally sound, and it doesn't fold very well so its in the back seat. Turkey frier is in the trunk, along with my bag of tools. When I get home from work tomorrow, I'll shower and toss together a bag of clothes, then I'm on my way.

Just packed up the car with everything but my laptop, tools and clothing. Sub box takes up a lot of room in the trunk.

all mine are roadworthy except for the volvo, which if anyone wants a ride in it, they can help me install the mustang radiator and external trans cooler and new electric fans.....it's tagged and insured, i just am never motivated to work on it.......every time i get to liking it, it shits the bed on me.
