Hello everyone, I'm new here so what exactly happens at Scottfest? Are there motels to stay at etc. I can make it from Cincinnati no problem. What town is near and that kind of stuff?

Well, this is probably my last post about SF2010; it's 9 months away, and I have a really neat idea for what I'm wanting to drive out there (no, unfortunately, it's not a Limo)....so at this point, I'm going to shut up and try to make it happen.

Over and out, and see you again in this thread 8 months from now.

Bears are dangerous enough by themselves, then they go and get laser eyes. :nonono:

A .45 will still put them on their ass. I, on the otherhand, am a different story...

What kind of full grown bear is put on its ass by a single .45ACP?

A bear cub maybe. A 45 would more than likely just piss it off.

Well somebitch. Apparently even a .45 isn't enough!

Perhaps I need a bigger home defense weapon

On a side note, there are 2 events that weekend (ADRL and NMCA), but if my boss doesn't have me covering either, i'll see if i can shoot down there.

That would work quite well, gonna be a bitch to lug around the woods with you though.

Tom, I've read stories of guys who have killed bears with .45's, but it took more than a few shots, one guy emptied the whole thing into one's head and it kept coming, only after it started chewing his arm off did someone else start shooting it did it finally die.

I think one of those 30mm depleted uranium rounds we had in Iraq to shoot the mortars down would do

The only thing scarier than an angry brown bear is an angry brown bear that glows in the dark.
