Post some photos and tell us all about it. What exactly are you looking for? Power? MPG's???? Folks here are chock full of good ideas and precise info on how to do it. What are your mechanical abilities? Doing the work yourself or going to a shop????? Bobby

P.S. Where are you located? If anywhere near PA, Scotty (Lincolnmania) is your guy for repairs/upgrades!!

Check the stickies in the performance threads under Box Tech. Lots of good info there.

        Welcome! like the name.

These cars have a lotttt of upgrades you can do, from 50 dollar home-brewed redneckery to swapping in pretty much any engine you want (they'll all fit under the gigantic hood). I agree start with the stickies, and maybe give us an idea of budget and goals (daily driver? handling or power? fuel economy a concern? etc.) and we can give you some direction on what to do to it.

160KMs 600cfm holley, shorty headers, 2.5" catted exhaust, 255/295 tires, cop shocks, cop swaybars, underdrive pulley, 2.73L gears.
waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc

check the codes on the computer... if you've got code 14... you'll need a new distributor (the pickup inside of it is probably screwed). If 14 doesn't show up... post up a new thread with all the codes and we'll try to help you track it all down.

Upgrade suggestions, in my order of preference:

                    1. Assuming you don't already have one, get a rear sway bar. Preferably from a PI car. Be sure to get the hardware, including the spacers that go inside the control arms. This made a huge difference for me and I think I paid about $25 at a pick n pull. If you find a PI car, get the front sway bar too since it's solid and yours is hollow. The rear bar is critical though.

                    2. 17" wheels and tires. Obviously a lot more money than the sway bar, but if your tires are old, now's the time. You will know where the money went when you drive it.

                    3. Upgrade front brakes to 12" discs from later model crown vic. Fairly big project but there's a ton of info on here about how to do it. Go with polyurethane bushings as part of this swap. Again, you'll know where the money went.

                    4. Stiffer springs. Plenty of info on this site.
