    problem with 93 CV brakes.

I'm working on a 93 without ABS. The master cylinder went bad and filled the booster with brake fluid.
So, I put on a rebuilt booster and a new master cylinder (non Ford). Well, the thing makes a moaning noise
everytime, pedal going in or out. Figured it was the rod that needed adjustment, but that wasn't the problem.

Installed another new MC, same make and another Ford booster, same problem.
With the original (bad) MC in place, no grinding. (installed dry)

The bakes work great, high pedal, car stops just fine.

Anybody have any ideas? I'm starting to think it's those new non-Ford MC's. I used.

dab of axle grease on the rod? Polish the rod and landing surfaces? Ignore it and turn up the radio?

Got grease on the rod, thats not it.
You can't turn the radio up enough to block out this noise.
There has to be a reason, an answer, I just haven't got a clue so far.

Can you get an new OEM MC?? It has to be more money but can you put a price on "peace of mind"???

Its not the brake pedal pivot shaft that needs lube, is it ? There is a pivot at the top of that assembly, and the pin that holds the yoke to the brake pedal. Both need a smidge of lube once in a while.

I might have to try that if I can't find something else wrong, something obvious I haven't noticed yet.

I thought about that, so I lubed it, didn't work.
I disconnected the brake pedal from the booster, started the car and worked the booster rod in and out by hand.
And the moaning was loud and clear.
Then worked the disconnected pedal in and out by hand, nice and quiet.
              Back to the drawing board.

It was that cheap, made in China MC, once that got replaced with OEM Ford.
                All my problems were solved.
