Different Zip Tube/Snorkel Sizes? - YES!!!

I was flipping through my Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Car Shop Manual and found that two sizes of the Zip Tube (sometimes called a snorkel or silencer) was available.

I couldn't find any existing info on this forum, so I'd thought I'd ask - has anybody confirmed this? My 89 Grand Marquis zip tube measures about 10-1/2" between its mounting holes . . . does anybody have a Lincoln to compare it to?

Reason: I like the idea of the factory intake location, but if the Lincoln piece is bigger, I'd like to find one before my HO Upper/EGR/TB gets installed.

    Thanks!

That's odd - the manual identifies two different part numbers next to the picture (which shows one as wider than the other).

I still gotta get you my air cleaner assembly pete! My snorkle is perfect and my filter housing is aluminum. You could mod it to make it a dual snorkel like you wanted. The aluminum could be polished like chrome

Flow-wise the stock airbox might work well, but they sure are ugly. I want to dump mine just for cleanliness reasons, not for any performance gain.
