    Purely out of a desire for useless (to me) information ....

    I can't picture a CFI having an actual choke plate, so I'm left to assume that if anything mechanical, it might have a fast idle cam, and that the ECU is then told when the fast idle is engaged and dials up a richer mixture until it warms up?

    All I really know for sure about Ford CFI was my dad observing that his '84 Fox LTD (232 V6) didn't require any foot pumping to start it.

      Its half a choke really, its got the high idle cam and the electric hockey puck, but no flap on top. The foot pump thing just sets the high idle cam. Some of them fire without it, some won't.
