Ok this morning it's like 40 degrees went out hit the gas let off of it like a carb bang she fired up. So how do I set this choke I seen when I hit the gas and let off of it the cam was on the high step. when fully warm should it be on the lowest step or fully of the cam??

It sets when you step on the gas before you start it. It should reset itself after it warms up.

It don't need adjustment if it fired up for ya. Thats all you should need is to hit the throttle before you start it. As for the cam, depends on how far the idle and fast idle screws are turned in/out. If it idles normal when warm and runs good cold on high idle I wouls leave it.

what's CFI anyway? I'm assuming a different type of fuel injection from the one in my car, but beyond that, I don't know..

Basically its a carburator with two injectors on top. It doesn't work off vacuum and black magic like a carb does, it has a computer to decide how much fuel to spray. Its not the worst idea anyone had, but its got the linkage problems of a carb, the electronic problems of EFI, and the general problem of "wtf is this crap?" since not many people seem to know how to make it go. It also has a horrible intake manifold and sat on top of a pretty pathetic motor, making it all around a real turd. I've driven some perfectly running CFI cars and they're smooth and quiet, but basically gutless even when they're totally right. The SEFI cars (86+) have a lot more torque and better throttle response.

They made cars with throttle response worse than these?

If I'm at a dead stop it's got some torque and is responsive but if I'm rolling at like 1500rpm I can't take off..gotta put my foot in it until it kicks down, revs up to 2k (light throttle once it kicks), then it goes like a bat out of hell...flat, uphill, whatever, it goes like mad

As sad as i am to say this, FORD TBI sucks, GM did pretty good with it, still isn't great but I gotta say, My bro's 305 Camaro has pretty good for a TBI car.
