Heres the worst part of the frame on the 1990, the frame on the 1991 looks Identical. On a scale of 1-10, what would you guys think the amount of damage is. Is this structural? Should I forget doing anything further to eitther the cars or is it not as bad as I think.

is that the only spot on the frame?
yea that comes from the ac dripping. seen lots of it.......no biggie, just weld in a patch......check the frame by the trans crossmember, and the crossmember itself......common rust areas........no reason to junk a car tho unless the frame is totally toast

I dunno. It'll do fine for a cruiser, but judging by the looks of the surrounding items, the whole thingis pretty rusty. If it was rust in one spot then I wouldn't pay it much mind, but that's just the worst spot of rust in all the rust.
I did a frame repair on my car, a little grander than that, but you can see that there is a defined edge to where the rust stops.
Initial removal of rusted areas.
Welded in new metal.

Ya, i read your whole thing about the rust repair on cardomain. the rest of the frame is strong, just surface rust. But the 2 plugs in the trunk ar now holes, floor hasnt gone through yet, one spot on the left rear quarter, and the front fenders are toast. But from the midline up (save for fenders on front) it is mint, no clearcoat peel, no rust, mint roof (vinyl is in amazing condition) All in all, its basically in the same condition as the 91 when I bought it, almost the exact same rust areas. I dunno, off topic of the frame now. I'll put some pics on here under off topic, and will have a cardomain page tommorow.sigpicVic Videos Here http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...676#post243676
