Was under the hood today and noticed some melted insulation/loom in my alternator wiring harness. peeled it back and found that the fusible link apparently got hot at some point. It wasn't shorted, although by the time i messed with it a bit, it broke. So I was pretty close to getting stranded.
I am about to go buy a new fusible link and put it in. Is there anything I should be concerned with, or looking for? Haven't had any electrical problems for a long time. The connector to the alternator still looks fine, and so does the one that connects it to the rest of the harness.
Was planning to do a 3G upgrade at some point - I guess this will increase the urgency of that project a bit.
