Dammit... I hate giving bad advice. I thought for sure the canbus bulbs had resistors built in... forgive me??

@85crownHPP
It was my choice to take or not take your advice.
At least we know something now we didn't.
No need to ask for forgiveness....just please continue to give me advice on things down the road!!!!!
Do you think putting in those resistors would solve all of this mess? (from link above)Last edited by Grand1; 03-20-2012, 06:32 PM.

I hear that's what what you have to do... I want to say Ive seen some with nice heat-sinks made into them that would make me feel better about the heat. No biggie if you had separate rear turn signals, but those resistors will be warming while the brake is on. Do you sit stopped in traffic much? I'd look for the highest power ones you can find. Look for wattage values along with resistance(ohms)Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

one blinker bulb is ~25-30 watts. So for the fronts (single bulb) get the 25 watt ones. and for the rears... just add up the bulbs and get the appropriate one.

Does that mean that resistor will get as hot as the bulb though...? Tell me how does it work...!! (Im old Gregg)Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

not neccessarily (get the higher ohm rated one). The higher the ohm rating, the less heat it will produce for a given voltage while still imitating the same wattage.
the higher the ohm rating, the more resistance to electric flow, hence the less heat that is possible to give off. The resistor will get at least warm though. That's why those have built in heat sinks.
