This is laying around and will be free to use.

but im also partial to the Ford Thunderbolt reverse tear drop scoop. looks like this. but the round part would have two rectangular holes cut in it and would face the windshield. cost about $50-$60 plus shipping.

Both would be blended into the hood and painted. I know how the cowl will look, but im not sure how the rounded teardrop scoop will look on my 85. The teardrop scoop is hugh and will take up the majority of the hood, just like on the thunderbolt. I have seen them on Galaxies and the look pretty good.

I got you beat on that, and mine is bigger (therefore better, lol) - pics will come tonight if Comcast doesn't screw up the high-speed installation.

Dont need it for looks, need it for clearence. need about 3" more to run my good aircleaner and a 1" spacer under that.

Im going to use this cowl scoop i have. going to attach it to the hood with panel bonding adhesive and blend it into the hood, i will do that before i paint the hood.

Damn you people and your obsession with taking pictures in the damn night!!!!111 Take it in the day, or not at all! I demand you go back out there, and take a picture of it in the DAY! I wanna see, and night shots are like showing someone how dark it is with their 10K watt flood light.

                  ranting i know...

Yeah, but not quite complete yet - I don't have a massive push-bar thingie and my spare wheel is still in the trunk... both of which will be taken care of pretty soon

The Cowl hood would look better than the Tear drop.

Very few of the newer Mustang scoops are functional. Besides i need it mostly for hood clerance so i cna ditch the tiny 9" filter and get my 14" back on. The ventilation the cowl provides will be an added plus.

I drove the car yesterday about 40 miles in 90 degree heat. the temp touched 200 once when i was turning about 4000 rpm in 3rd on the interstate. rest of the day it stayed about 190 or so.
