Auto-level air suspension is cool. I still would love to know the logic on the placement. From at least 1988 onward, all panthers had the compressor there. My 86 has the compressor in the trunk on the passenger side where all others have just the air suspension controller. I don't get why the controller is in the back, the compressor in the front, and wiring going from front to back along with the air line. Seems more logical to me to put the controller and compressor together, that way the only run is a power feed.

I couldn't find a switch in the trunk that it says you're supposed to turn off before jacking up the car.

How does this thing work anyway? Can I add air to the compressor? There's a valve there...

I don't see where you asked, but either way...

If you do install the cupholders, they will not just slide in place of your orignal ashtray. You will need that black piece that holds the ashtray/cup holders and the radio from the donor vehicle.

                    Yup.

Just as an FYI, you will block either the radio or the cigarette lighter with a cup of any size, and it will not close completely. There's a little gap around it when closed.

And just so everyone knows, I was the first one to have done this mod. In the online community at least.

I spent all day cleaning out the interior. Man that was nasty. I had a bucket of black water when I was done..from the interior! I need to get some protectant and febreeze now. I'll get some pics when I finish. I still need to clean the windows yet.

I guess it needs a battery, too. I replaced the original alternator (lol) and jumped it and drove around the yard and up the road, left it idle for 10 min maybe...still dead.

                          Magnet Test

I was looking under the car today, driveshaft looked different. I grabbed a magnet and checked....yep, aluminum! I also checked the bumpers, they are both aluminum as well. I checked the '89 again while I was at it, that has aluminum front and steel rear...

Also, I guess it's safe to say the windows are dirty when you spray them and there's a clear circle where you sprayed... I had yellow/brown rags when I was done, mmm nicotine.

Tried to clean the engine bay up some, didn't really do a lot. I found more original parts tho. The solenoid says motorcraft and the radiator has a Ford oval stamped on top. I have a feeling the only thing that was touched was the wiper motor.

Gotta love it when people never clean thier cars. Its also amazing once you get all that nastiness out how much different/better it looks.
