Correct. That's why I grabbed it.
    More Aero aerodynamic shenanigans.

And no other Aero I've seen has had this on. Oh well!

Both of my Aeros have that belly pan on them. The reason they seem to be missing so often is that the tension clips that go into the core support seem to fall out, which causes the whole thing to hang down, where it presumably gets broken. It was hanging down on both of my cars, and the Merc's was broken. All Aeros left the factory with them AFIK. My Town Car even has one under the rear bumper that goes over to the trunk pan.

Thats sounds like no good times! This one was bolted to the cross member and felt quite solid. Then again, the car had 92k on it. Great condition too, might I add.

          24.41 mpg CITY

          Put in a new thermostat/ housing/ hose.
          Before:

          Afta!

I put the chrome one on. I had to.

Cleaned some stuff out of the Tank:

Picked up a vacuum gauge, a 3 gauge A-pillar post deally, and some LEDs for color testing.
And managed to swing 24.21mpg CITY out of the Tank. Come get some! I can't wait to see how this does after the tune up!
The highway mileage should be close to retarded then.

So there's there's the new 3 gauge pod for the spare A-pillar. That's on the green thermostat that doesn't fit. Which is on Nick's upper control arms.

Which is on top of the spare transmission for the Marauder.

Which has the spare engine harness I need to modify on it.

Sitting next to the PI motor, with ATV control arm covers on it, spare silicone hose, along with a box full of goodies (tach and vacuum gauge, heat shrink, newish speedo gear, misc gaskets, and fuel line adapters), with a Marauder torque converter on the floor with a spare starter and battery hold down bar.

Adjacent to a pile of turbines that need to be finnished, a HPP on the bottom, along with the rest of Nick's Big Brake stuff. And a bag full of E3 spark plugs, and 2 cans of undercoat. With a oil cooler adapter on the box.

Not enough hours in a day.
            I am busy, busy, busy.

You need heat for the gauge pod Ryan. Break out the blow torch...........don't...really...even though that would be epic....in this case a heat gun will suffice.

                Roctober update

I have a ton of stuff to do. I have a pile of parts, just no time to install them all.
                - Front sway bar end links need to be replaced along with the stupid bushing bracket clips
                - MSD wires, E3 plugs
                - fuel filter
                - oil filter and (gasp) change
                - coolant flush
                - rebuild and powder coat front calipers and brackets
                - powercoat my intake and install a new air filter with black silicone couplers
                - install the 3 gauge pillar and install the damn gauges.
                - finished powder coating my steelies and get the winter wheels installed before the snow flies (which is in the forecast for Sunday. Fuck)

And this is on top of all the other powder coating stuff I have to finish.

In other news, the Tank broke 212k, it's buring oil, but whatever. The hypermiling thing is working. Knocked out 24 mpg city on the tank prior to last. Last tank sucked. I went to the Bills game, got caught in some nasty traffic. But I'm back on track now!

Hey, can't knock it. I got nearly 25mpg 90% city in my GMQ this past spring. I've stopped all-out hyper-miling, but it must have left a more permanent change in my driving style seeing as my average MPG was higher than before with no change to the car. Even in the Town Car I'm averaging just under 22mpg in my normal daily driving (which is almost all city).

Nice to see I'm not the only one crazy (or insane, or stupid?) enough to try and hyper-mile a Panther.

I ended up with a pile of stuff to fix. Get to work this morning and the radio that has played fine for the last 2 years has no FM. It worked yesterday, dead today. Ran home real quick and swapped the 1958 German radio for a 1957 Dutch radio. Another guy at work asked me if I could work on a radio for his mom. Its a mid 50s Westinghouse that looks cool, but they plugged it in and smoke came out. That should be a fun mess inside. Also have a computer to do for my cousin. He got a free computer, needed a hard drive. He gave me the hard drive today and I'll set it up with Windows and all that fun crap. I'm also in the middle of rebuilding a late 40s Browning tuner. I got the AM going, but FM is still dead. Have to work on that section tonight, though I might pop open the Westinghouse first to see what parts it needs. I'll put together an estimate for that. It needs a knob too, and I have no idea what that will cost. I'll let him know what parts will be and see what he wants to do with it.

You should stop hyper-miling those antique radios then.

                            I agree.

I actually got a chance to work on the Tank today. Replaced the VSS gear and that resulted in no change in the speedometer. So it's still off by a good bit.
I also changed the fuel filter. It's only been sitting on a shelf since March. And its been roughly 82k since I changed the fuel filter last.
And I think I hit something in my many miles of travel:

Yuppers. Onto sway bar and endlink mania tomorrow!!

One can be amazed what hyper-miling can do. My box is my daily, so I'll do what I can to keep up the MPGs. I average 23-25mpg consistently, and have a record of 26.5mpg.

Had to scratch the sway bar endlink mania this morning. It took 10 minutes of the the starter solenoid clicking before it engaged and started the car last night. So I put my spare starter in this morning.
Upon further review, the cap where all the wires mount on the solenoid, was loose. When I tried to loosen the 10mm wire, the cap moved. Aha! Problem!
Now, it has the higher performance, top speed, ultra fast, cop chip powered CVPI starter in it.
                                Yes.
And it starts in approximately 0.249 seconds. Solid.
