Anyways what's left on engine work? I assume you're building something like a 4V 4.6 with that Teksid block to replace this engine when it dies.

I'm actually building a 2v PI replacement for the Tank because it's my fuel economy car.
I've been sloooooooooowly working on it.
Moving and stuff has kinda put a damper on progress.

Monthly Update!!

Wow, it's been a while.
The Tank broke 222k on Sunday, which was nice.
In other news, I've put the 4 snow tires and rims on it, and I aligned it at my buddies shop.
The exhaust is broken in around seven or so different places. So that needs to be shored up as well.

And, I filled up the gas tank on Sunday. It leaked all the way back to the apartment. I had a huge fuel leak where the fuel pump lock ring is. I lost around 10 gallons of fuel.
But, I saved about 7 or so gallons of gas.

I fixed it last night. I resealed it, and now I have to wait until tomorrow to refill it and see if I actually fixed it.

I have a few things to take care of this month, on top of working on the house.

Ok, going to put a new h-pipe and mufflers on tomorrow night.
I'm powder coating the mufflers in hi-temp flat black. That should cut down on the corrosion.
I also bought VHT hi-temp paint for the exhaust as well. Last time, I used the DupliColor hi-temp stuff.
And it all rotten anyway.
So bought the better stuff, with silicone in it. I figure that I'll inspect and/or repaint the exhaust about every 6 months to make sure it's holding up.
At this point, it's just annoying.


I'm averaging around 500 miles a week. This exhaust issue needs to be fixed ASAFP. Then I can hypermile it again and pound down 500+ mile tanks.

Using Thrush Turbos again? I've read the Super Turbos flow a bit better because of the flow directors in them and they'll get a bit better mileage, but probably not enough to notice.

Maybe nexy time, when I replaced them again in 5 years.
Or I'll just go with stainless steel ones.
