    Looks great in there man!

Doing anything on a car the first time is tough. I can have the speedo out in 10 minutes or so now, mostly because i have done it too many times

Ah...and i ask almost everybody this....How far you get it yet?

it wasn't the fact of getting it in and out that was tough. It was setting the odometer that took a while. i got with like 2.4 miles and figured it was close enough

oh i see. I didn't even bother setting the odometer. I just plopped mine in lol. How did you go about changing it? I originally hooked up an electric drill to mine and i was only going 70mph and to for 23 thousand miles would have taken me forever at that rate.

took a center a punch and a hammer, popped the pin out with the gears on it, turned the mileage with my fingers, and put the pin and gears back in. The hardest part was getting the gears to catch the little tabs on the numbers, while keeping the distance that I wanted.

finally working on painting the grille. Its sitting in the sun right now while the sun fully dries the primer. Than Im ready to spray it black, and probably clear it tomorrow.

yard hunt was a dud today. The yard that had the Country squire that I was intending to pull the whole front end off of was closed (WTF?) so we did a grand tour of all the local yards. 2 of the 3 others didnt have boxes anymore, and the third was an almost lucky find. First car I came across was a 1988 P72. If I would have had the money, I would have nabbed the front bar and the wheels, but I have other parts to find first. Was hoping that it would have the dsah gauges, but it didn't. It didn't even have a 351. It was basically a regular vic with a slicktop, 16 inch wheels and hubcaps, 140 speedo (anyone want one?) and cop suspension (Ive got dibs if its still there). Second find I about had a heart attack. 83 CV Coupe . And it had a 351. They wouldnt allow full cars to be pulled out (trust me, I asked). The parts I needed though were in really bad shape, so its still sitting there.

putting the final touches on the grille, ran out of paint the last time, so I'll just take it up to school and spray it up there.

couldnt do anything with the grille, something about paint fumes and people getting high, and I don't know.

My next project involves this Guess what it is!

I dont know where you will put them....maybe the dash piece above the glove box, or even a thought I conjured up during Scottfest with Pete by using two of them in the 140 cluster similar to this but have them angled in. BTW 85crownHPP (Pete) has a set for sale iirc.

yeah they are going above the glove box. I always thought they would look cleaner than what the police dash would, but thats only if you cut the holes well. I bought these about a year ago from jegs (I love living close to columbus, NO SHIPPING!) i just never bought the gauges. Im either A going to get them at christmas, or B buy them with the money I get for christmas. Im going to nab the dash panel off of the 83 coupe i discovered the other day (I wish i would have thought of this earlier) because I like the "LTD" emblem over the current one. Then very carfully draw and cut the holes out.

                              GRILLE UPDATE!!!!

Finished the Grille Today. Going to let the paint cure and ten put it in my stash of parts to install. Here are some pics:

                              Primer

                              Finito!

I intracately redid the FORD lettering on the grille with more of that good ole testors model car paint. It held up so well with the tail lights I figured what the heck

I just need to polish the thing up and we are good to go!
