I bought this neat little box and software, to convert my VHS tapes to video files. I have a ton of stuff to convert. I found these videos I took of my old 70 Torino Cobra, at Atco Raceway in Atco, NJ. This is circa 1995, and this was the last time I raced the Torino. My Dad blew the engine up during the 11th run of the day, and the Fairlane was brought to life after that.
The car originally had the 360 horse "Thunderjet", which was a step below the Cobra Jet. It had the Drag Pack option, which was a 4-speed close ratio toploader, 4.30 gears, and the Detroit Locker with 31 spline axles. I changed the gears to 3.89's. The original engine let go back in the late 80's, when my brother's ran it in High School. I had a stock junkyard 460 bottom end, with low compression dished pistons (9 to 1 w/bolted on 68 heads), but I put this radical Lunati special purpose cam, with 310 duration and .540 lift on the intake/exhaust. It wasn't really matched for the engine, but it sounded cool. My best time was 12.7 @ 107mph which isn't bad for a 4,000 lb car. Here's a few pics, and three videos.
This is my old 89 F150. I wish I didn't sell that car trailer a few years ago.
I unbolted the exhaust for this day at the track, so she's running with open headers.
