Default 1985 CV {351 street rod } *DUW* *UPDATED* page 2

just thought id put a group of pictures together.

1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria (according to Ford it is a LX, but it is not badged, and it only has/d cruise as an option.)

I bought the car in Spring of 2000. the original motor blew in december of 2000. Over the next 18 months the motor was replaced with another lo-po 5.0, but had a Weiand Action-Plus intake and a Holley 600 vac. carb installed. The motor was replaced with a used oil-pump. after about 6 months of driving it, I parked it. over the next 2.5 years i got almost nothign done to the car itself, about the last 6 months of that time i built the engine and assembled parts. over the next few months I installed the motor, rebuilt the rear end with a 3.55 and a trac-lok, aklso installed rear disc. I stripped all the excessive weight out of the car. I re-tagged the car again in late October of 2005, on a Thursday. that saturday i drove it 40 miles each way to the Drag strip and ran a 15.98 @90 with no traction and a crappy hal-blow AOD

If you would like any information, or a closer look at anything PM me or respond in this thread.

    exterior

The first two pictures are of the current front end. it is the 79 grill and clear corners with the hood ornament. Also have the 79 tail lights.

about time i do an update.
added a 2.5" cowl, painted the hood black, and then painted the car in desert camo.

interior. it is very plain. no sound deadening, no back seat, no heat or air or even a fan. behind the dash there is only the chassis and engine wiring. No factory computer

New steering wheel. Grant Challenger GT.

    Steering Wheel quick release hub.

Drove the car to work today. Had the quick release adapter TIG'd onto the shaft.
Yes the wheel sits centered, the wheels are turned in these pics

re did the headliner with a raised LTD script.

    guage set up

    here is the kirkey mounted.

removed the rear seat and rear deck, replaced them with .032" aluminum

Whatcha doing with the t-bird rear cover?

I'd think that the way the arms are boxed will cause the metal shells to rip out of the rest of the arm. I'd weld the shells to the arm or weld 'em up all the way.

the T-bird rear cover was going to be the mount for a torque-arm and Watts. but i think that im going to run a Three link and a watts.

Sweet, that's what I figured. I gotta decide on the rear setup for the wagon.

Ever look at an aerostar 3 link? Might be an easy thing to modify for a panther.

Ill just build a third link, using some 3/4" chrom-moly rod ends and use a threaded tube to adjust the pinion angle.
