I wouldn't bother with it yet, either. It looked rather goofy having an otherwise completely stock car with Marauder lights on the front.

It's a nice upgrade, just not a nice first upgrade. I'd keep looking for a set of wheels, and I've got to agree about the Torq Thrust comment... they are awesome, but they sure are spendy. I'd like a set for my car, but can't justify the expense when my wheels look kinda similar.

Good call. I'm leaning right now toward a set of 17" Town Car wheels, non-chrome. I could reuse the Mercury center caps, I think. It would add a touch of class.

I would prefer LX Sport wheels, but where the frick to find them?!

You can find LX Sport and Marauder wheels on craigslist and ebay.

Also the stock exhaust diameter is 2 inches.

And yes, Jumbo, I'm Alliance. I'm the dwarf warrior that's stumbling around Loch Modan like he doesn't know what the hell is going on (for good reason).

That's a good lookin' merc, man! It's like a big empty canvas waiting for you to have fun spending all your money on.

I guess I'm going to have to take the WoW chat to PM in order to not offend or confuse anyone.

The huge nerds in here, i.e. Jumbo and I, are referring to an online game called World of Warcraft. In it, the "good side" is the Alliance.

Don't feel bad if you didn't know that; it just means you get out a hell of a lot more than we do.

I wouldn't say the alliance are the "good side," because that automatically means the horde are the "bad side," which isn't the case. The two sides have differing views, obviously, but can come together to fight powerful foes. I think the horde is just as "good," but maybe a little less "noble" or "tactful," and a whole lot stinkier.

                      Tragedy! Paint damage!

So I took Olive to a doctor's appointment on Friday at a local hospital. The hospital had a parking garage. Long story short I went to the store afterward and noticed a HUGE UGLY PAINT SCRAPE ON THE FRONT BUMPER! It's a big scratch/splotch on the passenger side corner and across the front toward the license plate. I'm so sad. It had to have occurred in or near the parking garage... I'm always looking at that car and I would've seen it soon after it happened.

My wife and I have a very good body shop with which we've worked in the past. While it's there getting repaired, I think I'll have him paint the grille body-match color.

Here's the question... has anybody had the front bumper on a GM repainted? I'm just trying to brace myself for the impact... $200? $300?

                      Sigh.

Sorry to hear that. No idea what to tell you to expect the bill to be, I haven't had to do paint work in a long time (thankfully). It is a good time to have the grille done too, since they've got to mix that color up anyway. You can also do like I did and have them paint your engine cover to match.
