    Hello from Illinois

    Hey all,

My name is Corey, I am from Illinois, and I have just recently purchased an 86 Ford Crown Vic wagon that I am planning to make into the Wagonqueen Family Truckster from National Lampoon's Vacation. I have always thought it would be hilarious to build one, and after I saw one that someone else built, I had to have one. I have been searching for the right wagon for over a year, and after looking at a lot of rusty wagons, I finally found one that is not beat to death. I hope to get this project started in the next couple of months. I will soon be looking for the duplicate parts like the luggage rack, wood trim, taillights, header panel, ect. If anyone knows of any ford or mercury wagons in junkyards near the chicagoland area, the info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the great site!
    Corey

Mecca Auto Parts in Rockville, Indiana sometimes has Panther wagons around. Unfortunately, the ones I saw there had lots of rust problems.

Thanks for the info 87cp. I might go check them out this weekend. Most of the parts that I need are alum or fiberglass, so the car can be a total wreck, but the parts I need should still be intact.

Good luck! Be a bit of a haul from Joliet - might want to give them a call and make sure they still keep Panthers around for their demo-derby buddy. I was just happy to locate a good wagon rear bumper there, as those little mounting plates are about impossible to find. Now that my other wagon is gone, I have extras.

tailights are just two pairs of lights on the rear both a left and a right side on each side.
