    New guy's Grand Marq.

Hey, new guy here. This morning I just picked up my first ever panther. Its a '93 Grand Marquis, odometer says 160,000km but the paperwork says 280,000km. New brakes/brake lines/p.s. lines/recent e-test. I think it will pass safety without putting any money into it! So far things I've found that are wrong are 1/4 power locks broken, 2/4 power windows, missing gas release button, dog hair in interior. The locks and windows should be easy fixes, especially since all the motors seem to work (linkages are probably broken). I've also got a '90 Mustang GT.

I've noticed in some other threads people describing bricks, aeros, and whales. I think I have a rough idea of what these generations are but can someone please clarify it for me? Being a mustang guy I already want to mod it and I'm wondering what a tune will do for the 4.6. (I've also been thinking of throwing the cobra rims on the marq but I can't picture the fox with steelies/crown vic hub caps lmao). I hope I can avoid spending money on it but I know myself and if its running still next summer I might be changing a few things.

Oh, and I also don't know a whole lot about these cars. I looked up that they made 210hp/270tq in 1993, and I have a lot of general ford knowledge from the fox body. Any interesting Grand Marquis facts you guys can tell me? hahaha

    Plans for the car:
    Custom tremclad paint-job
    Clean the interior
Drive it cross canada and/or the U.S. with 3 of my buddies (we all pitched on the car specifically for a road trip).
Probably retire it to winter beater duty.

If it breaks, we'll just scrap it where it sits and get a plane home hahaha.

    Oh yeah, purchase price: $400

And one of the fox in the garage for fun

both cars look very cool! thats one clean fox. as for the grand marquis, there are plenty of upgrades you can do to the 4.6 since its similar to the 4.6 mustang but keep in mind the motor is a little different. all depends how much work your willing to do. find yourself a 04-09 crown vic/grand marquis motor + electronics to drop in and youll have yourself 250hp and 287 ft. lbs. of course the usual upgrades work good for gains like headers, dual exhaust, intake, and i think you can get underdrive pullies for it. i know a few things about the 4.6 since i work on my grandmothers 99 grand marquis and my buddys 04 stang, so if ya got any questions fire away

Nice fox, is that rear window custom? I've never seen a recessed one like that in my life!

no it was not custom. Just a piece that was made in limited production. Called a Dugan racing sportback i believe. Was put on the car over 17 years ago. Not many people have ever seen one. I am yet to see on on another fox.
