those gauges are not stock, but they're pretty nicely integrated.

The PI gauges were on the passenger side, sort of beside the clock, and blackfaced. They were in a metal bracket forming a step shape so they were aimed towards the driver. Far from all Police vehicles came with them though.

Yeah I knew those couldn't be stock, and they do look quite snazzy there.

That's a slick gauge setup! Police package for sure. My speedo goes to 85mph:smirk:. You could only get the 351 with the police package after '83 or so... somebody please correct me... except Canada. You should have an oil cooler and a trans cooler also I think...

Yep it does indeed have an oil and tranny cooler.

Wow! Sounds and looks like you got an AWESOME deal. Does the rear have a strip-less bumper as well? (no black rub strips horizontally on the bumper)

The police package would come with:
              Stiffer springs
              Better shocks
Beefier control arms, and upper front solid control arm (no rubber bushings but must be periodically tightened)
              Larger diameter sway bars
              larger tires (225/70R15)
They came with the 351 as an option until 1991..and was available back in '79 till 91 i believe. i know my 82 with the 351 was NOT available to the public in that year, but that year only (someone correct me if i'm wrong please)
Trans, oil, and power steering coolers
              100 amp "HO" alternator

I know there are some other options i am missing, but that's the gist of it, and welcome!!

Did you paint the flat black on the hood or was that the previous owner? Also i see it is missing some trim pieces

                  HD frame
Slicktop rarely if ever seen on civvie cars (though apparently some fleet cars did come with vinyl roofs)
Neato seat options like my nonreclining buckets
PRNOD2 valvebody in the AOD (usually removed if the tranny is modified at all)

I'm pretty sure it's close to identical but has a thicker gauge of metal.

It does have those strips on the bumpers, so I don't know what that means. From other CV's I have seen on this site, mine appears to be missing the wheel well trim. What other pieces does it look like are missing?

As for the hood, that was my buddy. He has some kind of flat black fetish. I'm lucky I got the car when I did or else the whole car would look like that lol. The rest of the paint is in real good condition so I don't see the logic in giving it a flat black rattle can job. But don't get me wrong, when done right on a rat rod or something flat black looks awesome. The hood currently looks alright, I will need to tape it off and re spray it soon because it's kind of streaky though.

Besides the wheel well trim you are missing a thin long piece on the rocker underneath the doors. You do have stripless bumpers! which i personally like. heres a link to a picture of one with the strips: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37573576@N06/5507581295/

Ahhh gotcha I got vertical and horizontal mixed up in my head when I was thinking about the strips. Those things hurt like a bitch when you catch one to the knee, which seems to happen quite often to me.

I love the stripless bumpers too. I've been hunting for a pair to replace mine since I got the car.

Black? And cosmetically perfect? I hate your car. It makes my car look that much more sucky and rust-holey than it actually is! Quick, go drive a bunch in southern Michigan and northern Indiana during the winter so we can have matching rust holes!!!

The 15s and dogdishes really do look pretty good. No wonder my car's PO recommended obtaining a set.

Bingo. It'll be stamped HD slightly behind the rear wheel. I think on each side.
