Howdy all. I am the proud owner of a 1990 Colony Park (I know you guys like abbreviations but I think it looks nice written out..) that had every box on the option list checked: 3.55 LSD, dual exhaust w/h-pipe, leather, Insta-Clear heated windshield, power, auto-level rear w/onboard compressor, etc. I added rear sway bar, bags in place of the leveler shocks, 225/60 16's on PI steelies w/hubcaps, and Bilsteins. I run stock size brakes, but slotted discs with Hawk pads in front - it's got the huge drums in back. BTW, aside from pretty extreme dusting, the Hawk pads are the right tool for the job; before going the big brake way, let me suggest this combination. I run a bit in autocross and, as a result, appreciate brakes and turning response perhaps a bit more than speed. The stock size rotors with these pads is like dropping anchor. Only issue is that they're about $125, but, what cost is stopping worth? I had custom stainless lines made and installed new, steel piston calipers, bolts, bearings, and seals. I think it feels and performs like a Mercedes.. and no, I haven't fallen on my head. I attribute part of the braking performance to the shocks, though. Anyone considering a shock upgrade should look no further than Bilstein. They are expensive, but they are expensive for a reason; this is one of those cases where you spend $300 and you can "feel it in the seat of your pants..."
Anyway, I got windy there, but I just wanted to introduce myself and say I am looking forward to learning from you guys, and sharing some of my hard-earned knowledge of Box Panthers that comes from ten years of ownership.
