Boomer from "Boomer's Ford LTD Page" saying Hi.

In case you guys don't know me, I started a website dedicated to full-size Fords, Mercs, Lincolns, and other American cars back in 1998. My URL was www.Geocities.com/motorcity/shop/3234. I stumbled on this site when I caught somebody using a pic of my '85 Crown Victoria as a pic for their '80 LTD on Cardomain.com. Check it out. Go to search and type 1980 Ford LTD. IT's the tan '85 in my avatar.

My first car was that very car. I got it as a graduation present from my grandfather on June 6th, 1998. It had 33K miles on it. At 69K miles, the head gasket started to go and I kept on driving it. The bearings started to go, then I put it out to pasture. I bought another engine from an '84 Grand Marquis that I guy was gonna derby with the trans for $50, but never had time to put it in. The car sat from 2002 until 2011 and nature and time had done their damage. I junked her just last year.

Since 1999, I have owned over 100 cars, about 25 of those being Fords. You can see pics of most of them on my photobucket site at http://s99.photobucket.com/profile/Ottopartz460. I've owned Edsels, Imperials, Lincolns, Fords, Mercurys, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs, Chevys, Dodges, Toyotas, and plenty of other stuff. I sold pretty much all my stuff and my wife pressured me into getting a car that wouldn't break down all the time, so I drive an old Hertz rental car, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Although, I have my eyes on a mid 80's Crown Vic and an '88 Crown Vic station wagon.

I owned a tow truck for a while, so I made a little extra cash buying junk cars and it made my demolition derby career a little easier. I couldn't bear to derby a big car, so I preyed on Dodge Dynastys, Buick Centurys, and the like. A smaller front-driver can hit as hard as a slow-moving Crown Vic.

Now, I spend most of my time working or playing with my kids. In my spare time, I work on the '58 Edsel Pacer I have and I blog at http://KreuzControl.blogspot.com. I think of myself as an amateur Automotive Journalist and I hope that the right person sees my writing and hires me (fingers crossed).

So, I stumbled on the site because a REAL Automotive Journalist Jill somethin-or-other (she has a blog called "Drive She Said" for the Chicago Tribune posted a pic of the Car Spindle in Berwyn, IL asking if anybody can name all the cars. I was able to identify the bottom two, a '79 Mercury Grand Marquis and a '79-'80 Ford LTD (not a Landau, possibly an "S"). I was checking to see if the '80 LTD had the mirror tucked in the A pillar or if they had them freestanding like on the '82-'91 Vics and Mercs. That's when I saw my car on Cardomain.com. After I left some stupid comments that I thought were oh-so-biting on the woman's pic, I noticed a nice "Municipal Package" 1987 LTD Crown Victoria and somebody had commented that he should check out this site, so I did instead.

You guys can catch me on Facebook. My handle is Ottopartz460 (I think) or just look up John Kreuz or whatever. I'm also on Wecrash.com (the old site) as Ottopartz460.

I will have to check out this site a little more and see what it's all about. Look forward to talking to all of you.
