I'm wanting to order a set of Gas a Just shocks, I'm just curious which ones. Looks like either KG4515 or KG5458. I'm looking on rockauto, and other than $2-3, what is the difference between them?

KG5458 are firmer and don't float. KG4515 float and are not much firmer than the OE stuff when new.

Yep! They should've come with those police spec gas-a-justs front and rear from the factory. Made a nice difference on my '89 along with all the other suspension and chassis work that was done to her. Still rides okay, and still handles those big bumps in twisty roads well but it doesn't float or flop around goofily like it used to. Just one quick smooth compression-rebound. Sporty but not jarring in other words. Betting a Town Car will ride slightly better due to the longer wheelbase.... need to buy me a '90-'94 as my next project so I can compare!'89 Grand Marquis "Ebyt", '85 Grand Marquis "Eva", '94 Caprice "Kira"
'84 Town Car "Stacy", '79 New Yorker “Anita", '93 Town Car "Kelly"
'80 Mark VI "Allie", '88 Town Car "Lana" coming May, '79 LTD-S "Oksana", '94 Grand Marquis coming 2026

Worth every penny. My '89 is running the Addco 650 with the poly bushings & end links out back (rear end was swapped for an aero unit like yours- it wouldn't bolt up otherwise). It's better than the stock units that came on the tow package or HPP cars.... those were undersized and didn't have good bushings & end links. Same deal with the front bar. For aeros you've got the Addco 509. Food for thought.
Starting to sound like an addco salesman but I do a lot of hard driving and deer dodging in the spring and summer. If you do such things you really don't want to skimp on chassis (or brakes or tires but that's another story); your car has to be willing and able to support your wild aspirations. Or if your bushings & end links are shot and you're looking to replace with something that'll last longer and perform better. That's a more sensibly worded excuse!Last edited by Hearsesrock427; 02-28-2017, 12:36 AM.'89 Grand Marquis "Ebyt", '85 Grand Marquis "Eva", '94 Caprice "Kira"
