Well I'm back. I'm looking at another Town Car, an 03 Signature Series. A buddy of mine inherited it, doesn't like it and wants to sell or cheap. The only issue is the drivers side seat is stuck. Probably due to the memory seat/easy out crap. It goes up and down and reclines but won't move backwards and forwards. I haven't looked at the car yet and if it's far enough back I'm not too worried about it. But if it's not how hard is replacing the motor? Or should I just look for another seat, set it where I want it and unplug it so it doesn't move all the time? I'm also open to any ideas on how to manually override it to get it where I need it.

I had mine out last summer. The base is "fairly" easy to separate from the actual seat. Take many photos of control wiring and mechanical part placements. I bought the car. I was able to get the seat to move back to where I need it to be. Then after much frustration following harnesses in the small space under the seat i was able to unplug the motor so the easy entry/exit doesn't try to function. I don't care if the seat never moves again I'm going to be the only one driving it.Comment
