Alright. I just talked to the guy at Year One. Amazingly, I got through to the tech department without having to wait on hold. But, I didn't learn anything. He informed me that he was still researching it (he had my email), but that he thought it was "erroneous". He said I'd have an answer in my email by the end of the day. So, I'm going to wait for the email, and if it is indeed "erroneous", I'm going to have to go with Edelbrock 3783. If it is somethign they actually have, I'm going to buy it tomorrow.

Good news. The intake manifold did exist; it was Weiand PN 8323, but it has since been discontinued. I spoke with a sales rep this evening, and he is seeing if Year One will be able to get one. It will be at least 4-6 weeks, which leaves plenty of time of planning the rest of the 4bbl swap. I'll know if they can get it tomorrow afternoon.

Scott, I'd like to have that manifold... I'll go look and see if I can find one...

        Edit: found one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Holle...spagenameZWDVW

Is that what it looked like Scott? What the hell is with that goofy carb pad/ opening?

Is that Street Dominator a good intake? Better than the performer?

There is no EGR provision on that intake. The Street Dominator is old technology. Not impressive. Definitely not worth the money.....

I gather what you're saying about it not being impressive. My research has netted the same concensus.

But, about the EGR. What is that at the back of the manifold? It looks like an EGR opening/ mounting boss.

Well, Year One called me back this morning. The 8323 is indeed discontinued (which I knew), and they will not be able to get it for me. They contacted Holley, who no longer has any left.

Fuck me... I'm not whether to buy the Performer 3783, or to try and find the Weiand on Ebay or at a swap meet (which could take quite some time).

Ooops... Somehow I missed that very obvious EGR valve flange. If you were going to spray that engine, that intake may have an advantage over a Performer...

No, there will be no nitrous on this engine.

I'm not sure whether an EGR valve would clear the firewall be mounted way back like that.
