Nvmd found the code. They are e7 and my friend said for $125 he will port and polish them for me and intake and exhaust ports. Should I go roller rockers? There are also 3 angle valve job done. I m gonna get gt40 intakes too, what year should i specifically be looking for?

Just from my one engine that's pretty noisy with reused stock rockers, I for one intend to upgrade to either adjustable roller rockers or custom-length pushrods in the event it becomes affordable for me to do so.

you can go roller if you want, depends if you got the bucks. Definitely won't hurt anything, and the reduced friction is a good thing. Get new lifters if your motor makes noise or if its got a lot of miles. Replacing mine shut up the chattery valvetrain.

So aren't you plannig on removing the heads and intake to replace everything? Might as well go the extra mile and replace the cam with an Exploder one too which can be found cheap.

The two-door is an '87, isn't it? If so, running a used Explorer cam could be a wonderful and cost-effective option if one can be located (anyone else notice they seem hard to find?). Unfortunately, the only other factory rollercams that come to mind are the Vic and Mustang units .......

Explorer cam is actually a 1994+ truck cam, found in a 302 and 351. I guess they aren't as common just because people don't swap the truck bump sticks as often as Mustang owners swap theirs. I'll bet most of them are still right in the engine they were originally installed in, or they got shredded when the truck got junked. Most of the Explorer cams I've seen for sale were by Mustang folks who got the Explorer motor from the junkyard as a donor motor.

I actually have a nice set of P heads on the shelf now. Need something to put under them, and it won't be my car.
