Question on AOD pressure at constant speed!

    1982 Mercury Marquis Brougham

    AOD
    Edelbrock 1403 carb
    Edelbrock Performer intake manifold

    Hey guys.
Can someone please address the issue of AOD pressure at constant speed.

    I installed the Lokar:
    1) SRK-4000 bracket & springs,
    2) TC-1000HT throttle cable,
    3) KD-2AODHT kickdown cable.

I removed the slack from the throttle cable and then used the "special tool" on the kickdown cable. In neutral, my AOD is 35 psi with special tool in place. However, it drops to 0 psi when I remove the tool. Is this right or wrong? Psi increase looks good under acceleration (both light and hard), but again drops to 0 when I let up on the gas pedal to maintain a constant speed. Please explain! Is this right or wrong? I don't want to burn up my transmission.

It needs to be around 2-3 psi at idle, if you are testing via' the TV port. This is an occasional problem with the Lokar piece, it doesn't increase line pressure properly. The fix I have used is to move the throttle bracket away from the throttle shaft centerline just a nudge, so that it rotates in a larger arc.
