    Blown 2 distributers since august

I'm kinda thinking that my Tach might have something to do with it, i've blown two dizzies in the same amount of time after connecting the tach on. also wrecked a used but fairly new MSD coil. Any other ideas of what else could be causing this??

    -thanks -kev

Define blown. What exactly fails on them?

leave the tach off and see what happens. Who is making the TFI modules? They aren't all created equal, though I've had one of the cheaper Napa ones on my car for a year or more without issue.

That needs thermal compound, not dielectric grease. Many modules come with dielectric grease though, which makes them run hot. You want the goo used on CPU heatsinks, and just enough to get a very light coating across the back of the module. No using the whole tube and squeezing out a bunch of the crap.

so i should take it off and put thermal compound on it instead or do you think it will be alright the way it is?

ever since i put the new distributer in it seems to studder a little when going up hills at lower rpm(65-70), i have to let go of the gas for a sec and then it seems fine.

i'd put the thermal goop on. can't hurt any.

timing is set properly with the SPOUT out right?
