Sorry to hear about your luck.

I got a piece of timing chaing cover gasket in my oil pump and it broke the oil pump driveshaft. Luckily I noticed the oil pressure gauge read zero. No idiot light on the stang.

Maybe you can find an Explorer motor and swap it in. Should have lower milage and they are more powerful.

Well, I started cleaning up the new 302 block I have. It's from an 86 Grand Marq, but all I'm keeping is the block. Now I need to find a good machine shop around here and have them clean it up for me and bore it .030 over. I'm going to go with AFR heads, and either a Trick Flow or Edelbrock intake. As far as cam, I dont know much about them, I'll have to figure out what would work best with my combo. And I want to just buy a 302 rebuild kit, but should I just go with the regular pistons, or forged? Its going to stay NA, unless I put a small dose of N2O on. Meaning under 100hp shot. I dont think I really need forged pistons, do I?

Go forged while its apart, then you wont worry down the road if/when you do upgrade.

Are they much more expensive? I'm already about to drop $3000 into this thing, I dont know how much more I could afford.

Looks like summit wants $490 for the Forged rebuild kit and $270 for the regular. We'll see how the money situation looks in a couple weeks.

                      Don't be a dummy!

                      Get forged pistons.

You are spending that kinda $$, its only about 100 more with forged pistons.

                          Updates...

I FINALLY put the rear bumper on. Unfortunately, It's possible I put a Grand Marquis bumper on, I have both in the basement, and I cant remember which one came off the vic. Oh well, works just the same. Also, did a little bit of body work and painted the curb light bezels black. Chrome :chainsaw: That's about it for the Vic today. I'll finish up the area I'm patching tomorrow, then there's not much left I can do on her for free. If you can think of anything I can do for free, let me know. I have paint and primer and other random stuff laying around, just can't think of a use. I'll update in a minute with pics!
