:shrugs: Since Second tops out at over 90mph with 3.27 gears, that's not a question I've had a reason to ask. Does seem a little silly to have a gear you can't actually use, though, and if you get into relatively deep RARs, I can't imagine the ability to go WOT in Overdrive wouldn't come in handy on occasion.

As for the bands sucking - not my fault, plus shouldn't any decent rebuild include something a bit better?

Dunno what you mean by "can't use" really..OD gets used all the time, it's great barely turning 1500 rpm when cruising at speed.

Wanting to go WOT seems to negate the purpose of overdrive to me, though. OD isn't always a top speed gear anyway.

Can't use it for going fast. Yes it's an overdrive gear and you can go faster, with a stock trans, WOT defaults to 3rd. That's not why overdrive is there. It's there for fuel economy and nothing else.
