Ok so i noticed the other days that the Green vacuum line going to my egr valve is broken in two at the boot where it connects to the egr valve. My ? Is 1 what exactly does this vacuum line do? And 2. Is it going to affect anything to the extent that i need to worry about fixing it or can i just leave it unhooked

it opens/closes the egr valve. it will drop mileage a bit and raise the temp of the engine a hair. you can replace it with regular vacuum line (or one of those assorted vacuum ends from the help section... squeeze it over the green line and plug into the EGR valve). The vacuum leak caused by the green line being open may cause adverse BS too.
