    90 wagon. Idles like crap when it's in drive, at a stop light etc. Clears up if you pop it in neutral or park. More prevelant when it's warm. Thoughts? TFI going bad maybe? Kind of idles like it's got a cam in it. Real lumpy. Rocks the car at times.

    Did a code scan. Passed the key off test. Got codes 91, 41, 63, 33 in the memory. Got codes 44, 33 during the running test. Passed the cylinder balance test 3x. Haven't done a wiggle test yet.

    Here's the list of codes...

      Take care of 44, 33, and 63, the rest may fall into line once those are taken care of.
      IAC, EGR, and TPS need attention. IAC you might get away with just cleaning it, TPS can be tested with a multimeter and you may find that it needs replacement, EGR may also need replacement. At least that's what I did w/my EGR when I had code 33, but I had a spare in the trunk so it wasn't a big deal.

        Iac is a new Delphi unit. I just re-cleaned the throttle body again for good measure.

        TPS is brand new and calibrated for 1 volt at idle.

        Egr valve, valve position sensor and control solenoid are about a year old. Could they be bad already?

          Stupid question, but what does evr and pve stand for?

            Not sure what pve is. Did you mean PCV?
            PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation

            EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation

              EVR - EGR Vacuum Regulator
              Not sure on PVE, the only other thread I could find that abbreviation in was indicated by the poster that he wasn't quite sure of the correct term so he may have meant PCV. (http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...l=1#post112290)

              It is possible new parts could be bad within a year, but that's not usually likely.

              The links I posted before I basically just glanced through, I figured they might just be a starting point. Looking at the EGR one again it looks to be more about older style EGRs which apparently can't be tested the same way as the newer style, but it looked like the idea on how to test the newer style is in there.

                That's cool man, I appreciate it. I'll have to check the egr and see if that's the culprit.

                  check the condition of the vacuum lines. Big vac leaks make these run very stupidly. A stuck open EGR valve would do it too.

                    Well, if the pcv filter is a source of an idle miss, this might do the trick. It's pretty gummed up and weighs about 3 times as much as the new one.

                      Try cleaning the egr as well, even though its new it can still become clogged with carbon....had this issue on my '84.

                        Yeah I cleaned out the egr also. It made a difference too. The problem is still there, but not as bad as it was before.
