"Thermactor Reducer"..... I have never seen it referred to as that, although it should be a technically correct description..... Ford uses these basic thread insert/blind hole inserts to "plug" up the holes in the ends of the heads which do not have the "smog tubes" attached to them and to reduce the thread size so that you can attach accessory bolts to the heads... If you are using them to plug holes in the "back" of the heads after removing the tubes, it is necessary to chase the threads first as they will be plugged with carbon....Originally posted by DuceAnAHalf View Post
