The stick-looking thing? That's the kickdown rod for the tranny, serves the same purpose as the TV cable on the MPFI cars ('86-'91). Looking at that pic it's the thing closest to the carb, the one right next to it (with the spring around it) is the throttle cable (goes to gas pedal), and the one to the right is the cruise control servo cable.

Heater hose caps are just big versions of vacuum line caps. 3/4" for the thermactor garbage. Don't believe I've ever seen a vacuum line that big.

all that does is raise your idle a little bit, the car can do without it after it warms up.
it defintily wont 'make' the car run poorly if its not working unless its during a cold start.

Ok, now i gotta go fig out some more stuff to find. Hopefully something harder.
Ok, i put one and one together and got two, i was looking under my hood today seeing i had half a day at work only. And saw where at least two of my vacume leaks, that i pluged went. and thats where. Will this hurt performance? And whats a good way to umm splice the lines? I got some ruber hose but it's a bit to big not much. will liquid gasket maker do the trick on sealing them up? Any how thanks fellers in advance ;->

:-? Humm i cant Edit my post so ill go ahead and make another one :-/ Eh....

Any how, Update, i went and made me some splices And got the tube of high temp silicone out, And well spliced them together, in all i belive it wasd 6 lines that all went together. the only reason's i put them the way i did, was due to a) they where near each other or b, they matched up in size and texture :-D

I have two more lines though and i dont know where they go. so i can assume thative got 4 really, one of them is a green one comeing off the seloniod's for the carb, the other one is gray comeing off the passengers side fender wall. The gray one though i dont think is a leak due to on the end it was melted....

Any how tell me what you think guys. :->

these are all the vac lines that affect the engine - the ones in the diagram colored red (and the one going to the vac tree, and all of them coming off the vac tree) are direct vacuum and will have the most adverse effect if they leak. Under the hood, some or those are red plastic, some are black rubber with a red stripe, and some are black
You can use rubber hose to patch the broken plastic lines, just slip the ends into the rubber hose
