    Dear Panthers,
Thanks for the helpful info. I'd rather get the bad news before I commit. If the advantage the coyote engine has is that variable cam, Jay's hotrod article was the worst news of all. "Retaining the engine's independent variable cam timing with an aftermarket EFI controller requires a pricey high-end system and advanced programming know-how."

        Dear Panthers,
Yes, the car I've dropped 30k into wouldn't bring more than 4K if I sold it. So? I drive a very large, very safe, mostly new car that can cruise all day 75 mph at 21 mpg. And I've dropped that 30K over 12 years - which means it's cost me $250 a month plus gas and oil changes. Jeez, I (almost) could have had a Hyundai.Which, warn out would resell for $3300 today.

My engine (rebuilt once) has 318K on it and though it isn't doing anything alarming, I'll have to replace/rebuild/do something pretty soon. Hence my (fading) interest in the coyote. My friend Ratchet (who did the last rebuild) thinks there's enough metal for another rebuild. Won't know until we open her up. And maybe a turbocharger (6-8k?).It's real money but not so bad amortized over the next 10 years.

Not to sound like a broken record...but could I get confirmation that aero motor mounts work on boxes?

92-97 are the same and box mounts will work in 92 to mount a 302 which means yes, 92-97 motor mounts will work for mounting a mod motor in a box.

Well that's what logic told me the first time I read it, but thought I'd make sure...Thanks

You'd probably be better off with a reman Explorer 5.0 as long as you're not looking for tons of power. I think a stock Explorer engine would allow for better mileage than a lopo, since it doesn't work as hard as the lopo does in a heavy car. That's probably the easiest/cheapest option for a power upgrade, and a reman engine ensures it's all new and reliable, while it may be cheaper to gather the parts and put them on the stock bottom end, you'll be starting with a brand new block.

Sorry about the thread jack, back to 32V 4.6 awesomeness.
