Reminds me that I need to start gathering the tools and support stands for AOD harvesting.

I'm just going to build that C4 for this project.

I'd invest in AOD tooling before doing a C4. Always hated those things. Slushy and not enough gears besides. And they blow up.

Meh, it's not going to see much highway, and a C4 over an AOD is much cheaper to build to hold the power.

Rear end is out. I'll be boxing the arms, figuring out some custom poly bushing set-up, and swapping to disks.

Honestly, I think the mecto/heinous lowers might work... Anyone have a set to measure? These are 20.25" long from bushing center to center... Uppers i may be able to use an aftermarket GM G or A body arm (11.25"). I still need to measure mine, they are still up there.

You can use metco lowers for an aero, but you'd have to get creative on sway bar mounts.

If you box both upper and lower arms you'll need to make reinforcements for the control arm mounts, they like to rip off the frame otherwise.

Metco's are solid centers right? Drill two holes in each one.

do those include a swivel joint at one end or the other to keep it from binding up? If not, a solid arm with nothing to allow for some twist will end up with the mounts ripped out of the frame.

No they have polly bushings in all 4. Yes the true 4-link type set-up in the newer models doesn't bind like our 4 link. I'll figure something out.

Might as well go with 03+ if i'm doing that much work. haha

you'll have more work with an 03+ as not everything lines up exactly... though from Mr. Bean's "New Ride" thread, it's not that big of a deal unless you're swapping in the mod motor as well.

Totally kidding on the frame swap. Just doing my suspension & brake upgrades and calling it good.

Over the weekend I lapped the valves on those AFR's, installed some new seals, and reassembled them.

Thats what the lowriders do, just swap the frame to get the parts you want.
