Impossible to re-title a car once it's been junked in Canada, as far as I know.

Pretty sure that's what Dave said at some point, but you'd have to ask him to be sure on that...I'm going on memory.

Yup, I may even do it tommorow. I'm gonna have to pass on getting everything powdercoated that i wanted due the Vic taking a massive turn for the worse. Weather permitting, I'm gonna start tearing everything off the engine tommorow to do the waterpump, intake gaskets, timing cover gasket, etc. Gotta run to work after school to grab some tools and some drain pans so I can drain the cooling system, gotta borrow a torquewrench off my girlfriend and print off all the torque specs too. Let the fun begin.

Timing cover blew out. 15km drive uses about 2.5L of coolant.

That sucks, I didn't know why you were swapping projects either. So are you gonna put the Vic back to stock and sell it? I'd just fix it since I love slicktop Vics but it's your choice.

Vics getting demo'd or scrapped, too rusty, too many problems, not worth saving.

Started changing the Intake manifold gaskets/timing cover gaskets today. Everything was going pretty good up to a point. Pulled off the lower intake to find some rather large deposits (circled in red). Blocked off all the oil drainback holes with pieces of dowel, and got the bulk of the deposits out (pictured in clear plastic container) then went nuts with a ton of rags, a can of brake clean and an air compressor to get the rest of the shit out of there. Need to go back to work to get some more cookies for my die grinder so I can clean the mating surfaces on the heads. Gasket remover in a can+scraper=dosent work worth a rats ass on 19 year old intake gaskets. All was well until I tried to pull the harmonic balancer off so i could get the timing cover off to do the timing set and gasket. The harmonic balancer is seized to the crank, and while trying to pull it off it actually ripped off a part of the balancer. Now I dunno what to do, and since it pissed me off pretty bad, I stopped for the day.

So much for it having been regularly serviced. Gotta love sludge. While that intake is off, you should replace the thermostat if you haven't done so already. Its way easier if the intake happens to be off.
