Thanks. Nothing really special about my skills. I just keep screwing stuff up until I get it the way I like it.

I'm slowly learning I like doing the metal and fab work a lot more then the mechanical work.

Yep I refer to them as my minivan hell! The white one belongs to my brother. I just finished replacing the headgaskets and rebuilding the heads on it. The red one is a parts van my dad bought. I need to strip it down and scrap it. But I ran out of time the snow is going to show up this weekend so scrapping that van goes on hold until next spring. There's also another red van not in the pictures that belongs to my dad. It's an AWD with a fried transmission that I get to fix next spring too. I spent most of my summer fixing minivans for my one brother or my dad. That's one of the reasons I didn't get much done on the 54.

Urgh....none of those jobs are particularly fun on those vans. I've gotten really really good at taking the wiper box on and off in my dad's van, simply because it's in the way of everything on the back side of the engine!

Regarding the one with the fried transmission: When you replace the tranny, put an external cooler on it and it won't ever give you a problem again. My dad's is a '98 3.8L and it's going on 240k on the ORIGINAL tranny. We put in a cooler at 30k and just service it regularly.

Yep I know all about the wiper box/cowl cover. Just changed the spark plugs and plug wires on my dad's 97 3.3L Silver van not in the pictures. The white 98 has around 240,000 on it. It's on it's second engine and the 2nd engine was a junkyard engine that lasted 6 months before it blew a headgasket. So I just fixed that one.

The transmission has an issue with the pump. The van is a 99 Chrysler Town & Country LXI AWD With the factory tow package. It already has an external transmission cooler. The van has 215,000 miles on it. The transmission is the original. I just replaced/rebuilt the engine in it last fall. The transmission is about the last of the original mechanical parts. I'm going to yank it out next spring have a shop rebuild it and then I'll throw it back in after I flush out all the coolers.

It's just a never ending list of break downs. Between my dad and my one brother they have 5 mopile minivans. It seems like every time I get one fixed two more break down. My brother's 2003 has a transmission fluid leak and my dad's 97 has a coolant leak ( lower radiator hose ) . I need to fix both of those this week and it sounds like we'll be getting 6"-10" inches of snow this weekend. And I have to do the work in my driveway. And I still need to change the oil and the rear tires on my E250.

                Here's a little update. I got a couple more parts I needed.

Here's the Offenhauser throttle pedal assembly that I received as a gift for Christmas. I like the pedal but the build quality is horrible! All the pivots are extremely sloppy, the hardware is as cheap as you can get and they put the pedal itself on upside down! So I'm going to have to find some kind of bushings for the pivot points and replace all the hardware.

And I've been saving my change for a few months to get this. I was finally able to buy the steering wheel I'm going to run. It's a blue metal flake steering wheel. I think it looks cool and should fit the style of the truck a little better then the black one. This wheel should look good until I get it all dirty/greasy. I do plan to paint the spokes white instead of the chrome finish.

We had a 1966 Donzi boat with a wheel that looked just like that, only it was white instead of blue. I think the dune buggy we had also ran a similar wheel in black.

I think these type of wheels were first used on old boats.

The reason I went with this style wheel is it reminded me of the old hot rods and customs I've seen with these. And the blue goes with my paint job.

lol i dont know, the old glastron is pretty tough. i think it would put up a fight. i remeber taking an old 25' wellcraft to the dump in november. it put up a fight to the front end loader. it only crunched the deck off. could not kill the transom or bow lol
