I can't really help much on the top end rebuild stuff because I am actually working on my first rebuild.
For the differences in sizes of the pushrods and springs I think it really depends on which cam, and heads your motor has. Windsor and modified will obviously have differences but for the differences listed for Windsor only, I would think the variable would be different heads and possibly different cams. If yours is all stock I would measure what you currently have or research which heads and cam your car should have then research what sizes those heads/cam use stock.
I am working on my first engine build which is a 302, and I have also seen many different sizes of springs, rods, rockers, etc. but there are also many MANY different heads for a 302, and many different cams as well.
So I'd research sizes for your heads and your cam more specifically than just a 77 351W.
Good luck, I'm working on mine as well and I'm having a good time building my first engine1985 LTD Crown Victoria - Currently restoring after she caught fire! well another update. got teh 3g done. NO MORE CHARGING ISSUES!!!!..... ya know, something tells me it may have been my 4 12's in the trunk that killed the 65amp alt... xD
anywho.. thats done and it works fantastic!
and more fantastic news... after overheating the car 3 times and an exploded 20yr old radiator hose, i have finally refreshed the cooling system and now have heat back due to me fixing the blend door!.. now for the lack of brakes.
thanks for the support guys!, ill try to keep back with you all on the Merc and LTD.Charlette - Brown 1977 Ford LTD - 351 Windsor 155K, Full Custom Pioneer system, green HID, interior & underbody

Awesome! I love your car man. When I find a place I can park an additional car I want to find a late 70s barge too.You never ever see them around here anymore.

I love the greens. my Lincoln uses the round sealed beams. It would look epic with some halos. I'd have to mod the lights to have a switch to kill them for effect, but it's doable even with the eyelids.
