.......Im certain someone knows here how these were manufactured.
It is possible the dealer had it added and had an up-fitter do the work, afaik they weren't built that way.

My 89 MGM had a navy blue cloth top added in place of the vinyl by the dealer, I know it is not original because the company that did it put a sticker on the inside of the trunk lid listing the car color, added top color, and the VIN, but the VIN that is on the sticker does not match mine which tells me that the dealer had this done on multiple cars.
Also my 89 has a gold decal on the front fender below the a-pillar that says "50th Anniversary Edition" and a gold medallion on the outside c-pillar that has the mercury symbol and says "50th Anniversary Edition". I'm guessing it was the 50th anniversary of the dealership that they modded the car for, since the Mercury Grand Marquis (unless I'm wrong) was not around in 1939.

Panthers have always had dealer added cloth and vinyl tops. There are so many different "editions". Limited, Montigua, prestige, LePanche, etc, etc.

I personally have always like Dunlop, but I'm not sure how much they go for these days. Goodyear Integrity is a good cheap tire IMO. My parents had a set on the old family minivan and I liked them. Of course I'm not sure if you can get a whitewall tire very cheaply anymore
