I've left my parking lights on twice last week with once all the way down to a dead battery. What/where is the buzzer or dinger under the dash that I can replace or hook up a new one located? My Grand Marquis is a 1986.

My 2006 GM has auto lights. But my old 1986 GM war horse ain't got no fancy auto lights...! I just want to splice in a new buzzer and need to know where the old one is located.

I have:
A/C with Auto Temp (which don't work)
PWR Windows
PWR Brakes
PWR Steering
Clock
Trip Meter
Leaky Auto Emergency release (which I plugged)
Cruise Control
AM/FM Cassette Player
Aluminum Rims
Rear Defroster (which has a line not working)
Dual exhaust (done by a local shop)
New Holley Fuel pump (I installed in anticipation of 19lb upgrade)
That’s about it for now…

OK, I crawed under the dash and found a black box about 2"x2" on the driver side of the transmission hump behind the ashtray. When I opened the door and pulled the lights on I could hear a faint ding...ding...ding. I unplugged the box but dinging kept on dinging. So that wasn't it. Do I have to remove the radio to find this thing?

it should be an off white square plastic box with little holes in it to emmit the sound. thats what they look like in my cars. and its in the same area behind the ashtray. easy access from under the dash.

the one in GMGT(its from my origonal car) dings normal with no key or lights on but, when the kkey in the ignition and lights on, the dinging is much faster lol
