I use the dinger mainly to remind me to get my damn keys out when I exit the vehicle. I kill the car.. then start packing away the stereo faceplate, my shades, my mp3 player/usb drive, etc. by the time I'm done with all of that I usually forget I haven't taken the keys out yet and the dinger going off when I open the door reminds me I'm still a dumbass for not paying attention to that fact.
