Before the suspension, I heard some bubbling in the cooling system....it looked like a mixture of Yoohoo and diarrhea... thankfully nothing in oil. At the same time, drips out of the freeze plugs....after removed garden hose....basically small hand fulls. Only way to get most out is with the freeze plugs out. Put the rubber bungs in, when it's time to take the block out, it will be done proper. Two bottles of Thermocure, and no more rust in the cooling system.

Now if I had one mod to do first, it would be the headers...it just breathes and throttle response is on point....not to meantion the deep rumble. I also put a recurve dizzy in with a new throttle cable...that gets the tires screeching. Some engine bay cleanup as well.

Finally got around to putting in a shift kit....those smooth shifts was getting rough on the trans. Was having some miss at some gears. Transgo had a pretty straight forward kit with instructions. Messed with my vacuum modulator and tuned it accordingly. C6 back in business.

Cool. I have an aversion to automatics, might just have to get over that.

        Nice work!

As a fellow '78 owner, I really appreciate this write up and images. Finding info like this for our cars is almost impossible to come across. Thank you for this.

Sure bro....the truth is, is there is absolutely nothing out there. Almost pulled the trigger on a donor car a month ago....but space.

Hard to believe that our cars are pushing 50 years old....never getting rid of mine....we have patina, iron, and chrome something no car will have from the late 90s to 2000s up. Read an article in Haggerty that the car restoration business as we know it, is near done in the future.

Feel free to post anything barges here, along with any experiences. My next tackle is the hideaway head lights.
