Hello all. I just bought a 1996 CVLX, and when turning the steering wheel, it feels like every 90 degrees there is a "notch", if you will. He says it's the sector shaft, what is this?

The sector shaft is the shaft that connects your steering column to the steering box. It has a universal joint in it that allows the column to be at a comfortable angle to the driver as it enters through the firewall. If the universal joint in your sector shaft is going/gone bad, it certainly could cause the symptoms you describe.
